Can someone tell me about the needle and thread test? ?

Question

The old wives tale about a baby's gender with a needle and thread.
Is it a prediction or what you have had already?
I heard the string won't move if you have never been pregnant? or is it supposed to predict what you will have in the future?
I think it can be done with any metal and string but popularly its a wedding ring or needle.
Is it over the wrist or the palm? and of course the belly.
But what if you have had a miscarriage or abortion? will it give the outcome of those?

My mother swears by this test haha

From the wives tale that goes around in our family its like this:



The string wont move if you are a virgin.

but it will predict future pregnancies and also tell you what you've had already. It will read abortion and miscarriage.



We do it with a string and a ring over the hand, palm down.

My mother has done it on every woman she has ever known without it ever being wrong.



(Except her best friend who had two girls and had her tubes tied and laughed at my mom because the ring always said 3 girls, who then 10 years later had her tubes untied and had another girl haha)



Circle for a girl, back and forth for a boy

We put the ring back down on the hand in between each child, that is how you know twins our not (the ring will move, stop and move again)

because some people in other versions of the test allow the string to stop and go on its own.

lol, this is a old wives tale in my family that has always worked



You take a pencil and sharpen it, put a needle w/ some thread into the middle of the eraser.



If it goes north to south it is one sex.. if it goes west to east it is the other sex...i can't remember what is what right now.



IT goes through all pregnancies... even if it was a miscarriage or abortion.



The string will move if you have been pregnant or not, it always has for me at least. You do it over the wrist. hold the pencil over the middle of the wrist and then it will eventually move one way or another, then it will stop and go another way, or the same way depending on the sex of the child.



Once it is done it will stop for awhile but then it will go over the same thing all over again...



My honest opinion on how it works.... something to do with the energy you have coming out of your wrist. Hold your hand over someone else's wrist for any amount of time, and you will see what i'm talking about!

The old wives tale dates back over 100s of years from the French speaking natives of New Orleans. Its involves a sharpen pencil with a eraser, a very sharpen pointed needle, and thread. Thread the needle with the thread, tie a knot, then put the needle in the eraser. Then dangle the point pencil to the forearm of the wrist (Hands up) It needs to be pointed over the vain were the heartbeat in the wrist. (Energy)If the pencil goes back in forth it's a boy, if it goes left to right, It's a girl. Goes in a circle, it's searching, if it stop then no more kids. String a needle onto a decently long string ( a light weight neclace works as well) Place the needle over your belly holding the string. The needle will swing one of two ways -

1. it will be in a circle, which is said to be that you are having a boy. 2. if it swings in a back and forth manner, it is a girl!

I did it with a pencil tied to a string. It said my first one (that I'm pregnant with now) will be a boy, and my second will be a girl. My grandma did it on herself and my aunt, and it did their kids in the order they were born, on both of them (they've both had 5 kids) so I guess we'll see if the outcome is correct for me on the 16th :) I don't know why it does this either, just some weird thing.
