I live in Michigan.
I have been working for Subway for 3 months.
I am 11 weeks pregnant.

I don't want to just yet go up to the big boss man and ask him about it.. don't know if he'll tell me the truth if it means he loses money ya know.

So how do I find out if they offer it or not?
I mean, I'm not even sure when I'll start to need it, I've still got 7 months to go.

Who handles Human resources matters for you? It's possible that the owner, as a franchisee, has several stores and some central office to handle these matters. If you're hourly, you likely won't have paid maternity leave, but they'd have to keep your job for you. Once you have the baby, will Subway pay enough?

Every company offers different benefits. The only way you will know for sure what benefits you might qualify for is to contact the corporate office and speak to the human resources office. Your immediate supervisor can not legally withhold information about your employment from you nor can he lie about what benefits you are entitled to. You may qualify for the federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), but this only guarantees you can take up to 12 weeks off without losing your job. It does not provide for any paid time off. Read your employee handbook that you should have received when you began work. There should be a contact number there for Human Resources or perhaps employee relations.

You would not have worked at Subway for over 12 months, so you would not be eligible for FMLA leave. You will have to talk to your individual supervisor and find out what that specific franchise does for pregnancy leave. Chances are good you'll be out on unpaid leave for 6 weeks for a vaginal birth, and 8 weeks for a c-section.

you should be able to find something on it in your employee manuel. If not you can got to the state website and look up maternity leave act for your state it should tell you what options are availible to you. Good luck!

you might not even need it- some people are able to work right up until they deliver- your ob doc will give you advice on your specific situation.

you should ask for an employee manual- it will detail all benefits, etc.

also, after you deliver, the federal gov't passed a law called the Family Medical Leave Act- it allows for time off w/ out pay after delivery- hope this has helped and good luck w/ your pregnancy:)

it is the law under FMLA to let you take at least 8 weeks off. weather you get paid or not is up to Subway, but they cant deny or fire you for taking maternity leave.
