My baby isn't even here yet and the playpen, stroller, and carseat have never even been used!!!!!
I set them all up in the living room to make sure all the peices were there and left them up overnight. Well my man's brother stayed over (in the livingroom where the stuff was set up) and smoked all effing night and now the stuff smells like cigarettes. I'm so pissed it's all brand new!!!!!!
How the hell do I get the smoke smell completely out? I DO NOT want my baby to be in the carseat or whatever and have to smell that.

OMG I'm so sorry!!!! I don't think you can, just clean with bleach, let them air dry outside. Wow, if you can't get it out, maybe you can go on craigslist and get some used ones in good condition and make him pay for it. Good Luck,

I would make the brother buy new stuff! But I'm sure he won't. So what I would do is toss the seat cover in the washer with a gentle detergent on gentle cycle and wash that, don't put it in the drier you want to air dry it. Next take everything that can't go in the washer, like the pad for the playpen, the car seat straps and get a bucket of mild detergent. Get a rag wet and ring it out until just damp, wipe everything down. You don't want to soak the straps it will weaken them making them unsafe. You may have to do this a few times to get the smell all the way out. I would also use Frebreeze on things in between wipe downs.

Good Luck and sorry he was an ***!

Since it was only overnight, it's probably not too deeply imbedded. If it were me, I'd spray it liberally with Febreeze and set it outside in the sunshine and fresh air for a few hours.

If the pack and play is made of nylon, then wipe it down really well with a wet rag and some type of disinfectant cleaner (Fantastic, 409, etc.) or even use a handful of Lysol wipes and again--set it in the sun and fresh air.

P.S. You really shouldn't let him smoke in your house anymore. Carseats/strollers/etc. can be cleaned fairly easily, but the smokey smell is also getting in your carpet, furniture and drapes!

Supposedly hand washing them in vinegar will get rid of the smoke smell. The smell of the vinegar will actually diminish and go away after just a little bit of time. My friend had to do that with some of her baby things that came from a smoke filled house. Try hand washing them in vinegar, setting them either outside for a bit, or near an open window so it can get fresh air, then I'd go ahead and re-hand wash them after a few days so the vinegar has set in with a good cleaner. You could use laundry detergent or just soap and water to rewash. I know it's probably harder for a pregnant woman to do this, so ask for help from someone if you can. I feel for you, I'd be really really pissed if that happened.

you could try putting a tiny bit of Gain laundry detergent in a bucket of warm water and a wash cloth. ring the rag out good then wipe the stuff down. you might want to go over it a second time with warm clean water. do that outside and let it air dry. as far as the car seat goes, the cushion part should be removable. take it off and put it in the gentle cycle in the washer.

pinsol works wonders! a bucket of warm water and some pinsol. u cant wipe it all down. if you cant take the fabric peices off, they cycle them through the wash. if not clean it with pinsol a few more times. also frabreeze works good too. good luck.

That is terrible. Try to clean what you can in the washer machine and try and air out the other stuff leave them outside and maybe spray some febreze on them.

I used febreze for my son's stuff. My parents smoked not me. Had it at their house for a couple of days till my fiance could pick it up and bring it to our house. If you can take the cloth parts off just wash them in the washer. But febreze worked well. May take a couple of dousings but it should do the trick.
